Size: Approximately 1–1.5 cm as adults.
Difficulty (Keeping): Easy; a small, active species that is adaptable when provided with suitable substrate, ventilation, and moderate moisture.
Breeding Difficulty: Easy; highly prolific and breeds readily under suitable conditions. Larvae develop quickly, with development taking approximately 2–4 months before pupation.
Temperature: 22–28°C (72–82°F).
Humidity: Moderate; larvae require a slightly moist substrate, while adults can be kept from slightly moist to relatively dry conditions. Good ventilation is important.
Note: Anelaphinis breviceps is a small African flower beetle from Cameroon, reaching only around 1–1.5 cm. Its coloration can vary considerably, ranging from brown-orange and reddish tones to darker individuals, sometimes with contrasting light markings. Adults are active during the day and readily accept fruit and beetle jelly, while larvae feed on decomposing leaf and wood material.
